The art exhibition "Ahead of the Rediscovery Stream" attempts to examine from a new perspective the sensitivities, memories, and unconscious values that permeate Japanese life, and to reinterpret the inherent aesthetic sense and forms of perception therein.
It is a shared process of "rediscovery" that unearths memories buried in the past and overlooked sensations, and finds new value with the eyes of those of us living in the present. This creative endeavor also has the power to open up new possibilities, sometimes sharp and sometimes melting. This exhibition is filled with the intention of capturing the great flow (Stream) of Miraie that is born from this rediscovery, and leading that flow (Ahead).

コラボレーション企画
「RE:MONCHHICHI」

  • venue:WHAT CAFE

Based on the theme of "Stuffed toys are a form of memory," this exhibition is an attempt by three contemporary artists - Koichiro Tada, Akina Tokiyoshi, and Mioka Matsuura - to reinterpret, in their own ways, the fundamental sensations that Monchhichi has fostered in people, such as affection, security, memory, and touch. Through a variety of media, including sculpture, drawing, and installation, Monchhichi as a "close-by presence" is visualized as art, offering visitors a new encounter. Additionally, in collaboration with contemporary artist Ken Kagami, born in 1974, the same year as Monchhichi, a limited edition Monchhichi will be produced and released exclusively MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL.

「TOKYO [UN]REAL ESTATE」
collaborate with CCBT

  • venue:E HALL 隣

As a satellite project within the festival venue of the art exhibition "Ahead of the Rediscovery Stream," we will be hosting "TOKYO [UN]REAL ESTATE" by MVMNT, who served as Civic Creative Base Tokyo [CCBT]'s 2024 Artist Fellows.
TOKYO [UN]REAL ESTATE is an art project that uses 3D scanning to record and archive the "real lives" of urban residents, utilizing this spatial data as a new form of "un]real estate." The project reinterprets these everyday spaces as art, unearthing the value inherent in urban life from the perspective of "rediscovery." By sharing these rediscoveries with artists and creators, the project aims to create part of a larger stream that connects Miraie and spark a new cultural movement.

Re:discovery — from seed to formby START Box × MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL 2025

  • venue:WHAT CAFE

"START Box" is a project run by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Arts Council Tokyo, a public interest incorporated foundation under the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture, that provides young artists who find it difficult to secure a studio or other space with a creative space and supports their ongoing activities. It utilizes vacant storefronts in public housing and other locations, and rents them out at affordable rates. It also provides a venue for interaction between local communities and artists, and a place to exhibit their work.
This exhibition takes as its starting point the theme of MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL 2025, "Rediscovery," and features four artists: Junko Awatani, Ogata Ryo, Kanamaru Tomoki, and Nonoyama Yuki, who have been active with START Box, which supports the creation and dissemination of young artists and the launch of their careers.
Coming from diverse backgrounds and working beyond the boundaries of expression, they re-examine the aesthetic sense, physicality, and local memories that reside in culture from their own perspectives, creating works that reinterpret them in a contemporary context. This exhibition presents, through the perspectives of the next generation of artists, expressions that are sprouting while rooted in the "soil" of inherited culture.

EXHIBITION ARTISTS: Junko Awatani, Ryo Ogata, Tomoki Kanamaru, Yuki Nonoyama

[特別照明演出]art brain company × PARADE design firm

  • venue:会場全域

The next generation of creators from Art Brain Company, which has been involved in spatial design with a focus on lighting, sound, and streaming for approximately 50 years since its founding, will collaborate with PARADE design firm, which led the successful Japan Pavilion at the Milan Expo 2015 and the Dubai Expo 2020, to create a special spatial design.
Starting from this year's theme of "Rediscovery," the festival reinterprets the sensibility of Junichiro Tanizaki's "In Praise of Shadows" from a modern perspective, using the keyword "In Praise of Shadows." From the main entrance to the boardwalk along the canal, a fantastical space woven with light and shadow will be created, with mechanisms that make the shadows of visitors appear, and the light installation along the canal will become a MARK that symbolizes the festival.

The MACALLAN Canal Bar & ART WALL

  • venue:T-LOTUS Mサイドデッキ

Founded in 1824, The Macallan has embodied unparalleled craftsmanship and creativity, and is known for its world-renowned single malt. In collaboration with the brand, The Macallan, a floating barge on the Tennozu Canal, has opened a limited-time "The MAC ALL AN Canal Bar" on the side deck of the T-LOTUS M. Guests can enjoy The Macallan's signature Sherry Oak and Double Cask series, as well as an art wall in the same area, in which artists and visitors can participate. By layering pieces of wood that participants freely painted, diverse expressions are layered on top of each other. The craftsmanship and creativity that The Macallan has always valued intersects with MYAF's philosophy of opening up art to society, visualizing the process of opening up creativity and diversity.

*People under the age of 20 are not permitted to enter.
*People driving cars, motorcycles, bicycles, etc. are asked to refrain from drinking alcohol.

J-WAVE「東京を“音”で感じるアート体験 ― Plug into TOKYO -proof of sounds-」

  • venue:BOND STREET

J-WAVE will be exhibiting a special booth at "MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL 2025," offering an experience where sound and art intersect. The booth's sound installation project, "Plug into TOKYO -proof of sounds-," will feature sounds selected by 12 navigators and MYAF artists, experienced through the 4D surround sound system "KISSonix." The sounds, including the hustle and bustle and the seaside, will blend together to bring out the new charms of Tokyo. Also on display will be a work by Yan2, "A Device for 'Graffiti'." This piece autonomously sprays and creates curves, evoking urban graffiti and adding a visual layer to the sound experience. There will also be a public recording with Kitamura Fuki and Katagiri Jin. Enjoy a special time where art and radio resonate together.

This exhibition features works by four contemporary artists who challenge tradition from different perspectives of "materials," "expression," and "technique." Facing the fundamental materials of earth, water, and fire, the artists explore the future of pottery, moving back and forth between memory and renewal. This exhibition touches on the spirituality and possibilities of Bizen ware.
This will provide many visitors with an opportunity to learn how open Bizen ware is and how it continues to take on new forms.

Featured artists: Takashi Baba, Sho Fujita, Yuji Miura, Taiga Mori

スカルプD × Face Oka Special Collaboration

  • venue:E HALL

A collaboration between Scalp D, developed by Anfa Co., Ltd., and artist Face Oka has been decided for MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL 2025.
This project is based on Scalp D's brand concept, "Relax your mind."
Art also brings about "space in the heart" such as serenity, courage, and healing. This collaboration aims to combine the power of Scalp D and art to naturally create space in daily life.
As a specific initiative, under the theme of "Art in the Bathroom," Scalp D's distinctive rectangular bottle has been used as a canvas, with limited edition packaging designed by artist Face Oka, which will be sold in limited quantities at the festival venue. This product offers a new experience of decorating an otherwise inorganic bathroom with art just by placing it, and will add color to your daily skincare routine.
Furthermore, in the Face Oka exhibition space, in addition to the display of original works, a bathtub and CRT television will be placed in a way that corresponds to this project, creating an installation that expresses MARK lifestyle. In a space filled with playfulness and culture, you can experience the world of Face Oka's art and Sculp D in three dimensions.
