AWASE gallery + biscuit gallery “Echoscape”

In this project, one young artist based in Japan and South Korea will be selected from each gallery, and a total of four artists (2 Japan and 2 Koreans) will hold "Echoscape".

AWASE gallery will introduce a two-person exhibition by Goyoung and Sawa Amo-Aihong, and biscuit gallery will introduce a two-person exhibition by Ham Seong-ju and Arashi Tanaka.
Artists from two countries with different cultural and social backgrounds intersect through contrasting expressions, creating a place for dialogue through art, not just "exchange".
Each two-person exhibition consists of a different approach in form and material. In addition to the new value born from the resonance between the works and the intensity of individual expression, we aim to create a multi-layered viewing experience by deliberately launching the "resonance" and "difference" of artists living in the same era in the same space.

【AWASE gallery】

AWASE gallery is an artist run space based in Shinjuku, Tokyo, run by architect Riku Matsui and artist Kohei Yamada. Based on the art space "Nudge Field", the exhibition focuses on solo and group art exhibitions, while exploring new possibilities of expression through the intersection of different fields such as architecture and media culture. The annual program is supervised by Yamada, and Matsui adds an architectural perspective to implement cross-disciplinary attempts such as collaborative projects between art and architecture, exhibitions that incorporate architectural techniques, and interventions by artists in space. Focusing on the fusion of architecture and art, we propose an exhibition experience that has never been seen before.

AWASE gallery is an artist-run space based in Shinjuku, Tokyo, founded by architect Riku Matsui and artist Kohei Yamada. Located in the art hub nudge field, the gallery focuses on solo and group exhibitions, while exploring new forms of expression through the intersection of visual art, architecture, and media culture.
With annual programming curated by Yamada and architectural perspectives brought in by Matsui, AWASE gallery presents interdisciplinary projects where artists and architects collaborate.
By integrating architectural elements into artworks and engaging artists in spatial experimentation, the gallery aims to offer innovative exhibition experiences and expand the possibilities of creative expression.
