The theater company was founded in 2007 by director Yuta Hagiwara. In addition to Hagiwara, its members include actor Honami Shimizu and actor/stage director Ito Ito. Through their theatrical works, they portray the relationship between the public and the private body. Their main works include "Waiting for Godot in Fukushima," which was performed on the streets of Hirono Town, Futaba County, Fukushima Prefecture, after the nuclear power plant accident; "I'm the One," a solo performance with the text of the Japanese Constitution, which was invited to the international theater festival Temps D'Images CLUJ in Romania; and "Happy Days" (written by Samuel Beckett), which used stage sets made of steel to depict the energy that resides in bodies that cannot move and was performed at Theater commmons '18.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, the group has started a "telephone theater series" that uses telephone lines to perform. This series, which is performed one-on-one between actor and audience, has presented three works so far: "Hello, It's Not Me" (written by Samuel Beckett), "Hello, Simone" (text: Simone Weil), and "Hello, In the Brink" (text: Natsumi Seo). In 2022 and 2023, the group also performed "LAY List for a Bench," which applied the techniques of telephone theater, in collaboration with Kichijoji Theater. The audience dials a black telephone placed in front of the theater, and the actors play texts by novelists, poets, thinkers, playwrights, and poets to accompany the performance.
