  • ART FAIR - CROSSOVER
Born in Shizuoka Prefecture in 1991. Graduated from the doctoral program at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2020. Currently based at STUDIO Kodai, a shared studio in Ibaraki Prefecture. Masuda Masahiro's work involves photographing a casual landscape and projecting the image in the same location using a projector. By repeating the process of photographing from the same viewpoint multiple times and then silk-screening the image on a canvas, a number of images and paints are overlapped and blurred. The overlapping and shifting of images created using this camera and projector evokes the idea that the time we live is connected and shaped like a continuous film, with each moment continuing. For art festivals and commission productions, he travels to the site to report on the event, taking photographs at the exhibition location and the surrounding area, and actively creates site-specific works according to the exhibition location. His major exhibitions include "Scattered and Connected" (MARUEIDO JAPAN, Akasaka, Tokyo 2022) and "VOCA Exhibition 2020" (Ueno Royal Museum, Ueno, Tokyo). His major collections include the Yusaku Maezawa Collection of the Contemporary Art Foundation, Richmond Hotel Premier Tokyo Scuola, and others.
