Born in Saitama Prefecture in 1985, currently residing in Saitama. Graduated from Musashino Art University, Faculty of Art and Design, Department of Moving Image in 2008. Artist.
Collecting, deconstructing, and reconstructing vast amounts of character images and digital images scattered across the internet, the artist creates chaotic and multi-layered screens that capture the feeling of confronting an overwhelming amount of information. Through a unique method that combines prints and paintings, the artist connects the ubiquitous visual culture on the network to the materiality of painting, and, focusing on the smallest units that constitute digital images—"particles"—continues to question the nature of human perception and cognition in the modern age.
His major solo exhibitions include "Image Fantasy" (CASHI, Tokyo, 2025), "Everlasting Particle CORE" (Harmony Art Gallery, Shanghai, 2023), "Image, Aroundscape, Particle" (RICOH ART ALL, Tokyo, 2021), "Black Dream" (CASHI, Tokyo, 2020), and "Extreme AR Image Core" (DIESEL ART ALL, Tokyo, 2013).
His major group exhibitions include "Nameless Masamasa x Kazuki Umezawa 'MAD IMAGE'" (IZ ART ALL, Tokyo, 2025), "My Personal View of Contemporary Japanese Art: The Ryutaro Takahashi Collection" (Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, 2024), "Tokyo Pop Underground" (Jeffrey Deitch, Los Angeles/New York, 2019), "Setouchi Triennale 2016", and "Reborn- Art Festival 2017".
Her works are held in the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, Mori Art Museum, Toyota Municipal Museum of Art, Osaka Nakanoshima Museum of Art, and the National Gallery of Lithuania, among others. She is affiliated with CASHI.
