Born in Yamagata Prefecture in 2003. Currently enrolled in the Painting Department of the Art and Culture Program at Tohoku University of Art and Design. Creates paintings that re-examine the self and subculture using tattooing techniques.
Traditional Japanese tattooing involves imprinting faith, beliefs, and personal values onto the body as symbolic designs, thereby making them visible and integrating them with the individual. The artist focuses on this culture of visualizing and strengthening faith through the act of imprinting on the body, and on the symbolic nature of the designs unique to traditional Japanese tattooing, attempting to visualize the relationship between subculture and himself.
Having grown up immersed in anime and games, for this writer, content transcends mere entertainment, becoming a deeper entity that shapes their values and personality. While affection for works and characters provides a sense of security and emotional support, it also highlights personal naivety and stagnation. In this sense, subculture can serve as a mirror reflecting one's inner self. Among these, the image of a beautiful girl is a particularly important motif for this writer. In subculture, a beautiful girl is not seen as a real-life other, but rather as an idealized being that resonates with the self. While possessing the attributes of a young girl, this being, who empathizes with the anxieties and vulnerabilities of men, transcends mere consumption as entertainment, sometimes forming a relationship akin to worship. This unique spiritual relationship forms the core of the writer's work.
He combines the subcultures that have been his spiritual support with the cultural aspects of traditional Japanese tattooing, which involves inscribing faith and beliefs onto the body, and expresses this through tattooing techniques as paintings. Through his creative style of imprinting images, he is not only consuming characters and content, but also re-examining his own existence, which has required them, and his relationship with subculture itself.
