Nakamura Koji was born in 2001 in Nagano Prefecture and is currently an artist based in Tokyo.
Major exhibitions include "WE ARE NOT ALONE." (TWIY gallery, Osaka, 2023) and "Another day Another Dollar" (former movie theater, Tokyo, 2022), and the artist is actively expanding the scope of his activities, including presenting large-scale installations.
In the Suwa region where Nakamura was born and raised, giant wooden pillars have been objects of worship since ancient times. As a result, Nakamura places the utmost importance on the "animistic" spirit of believing in spiritual beings in nature such as the sea, mountains, and rivers in his own work, and he explores the connection between how this spirit is being passed down in modern society through his works.
