Shizuka Okada

Born Gunma in 1987.
After graduating from the Department of Industrial, Craft and Design, Faculty of Art and Design, Musashino Art University in 2010, he enrolled at the National University of Art and Design, Städelschule (Frankfurt) from 2013 to 2017.
He creates ceramic objects that combine animals, plants, and abstract themes, and exhibits them mainly in Japan and Germany. From 2021, he will be creating works in Kyoto.
Major exhibitions to date include "Artist Running Festival" (group exhibition, XYZ collective, Tokyo/2020), "My Long, Thin Flute" (solo exhibition, fig..Tokyo/2018), "Helen at the Mountain" curated by Anne Eastman/Tam Ochiai (group exhibition, Tetsuo's Garage, Nikko/2018), "after the small hours" (solo exhibition, UTRECHT, Tokyo/2017), "Landhaus Schwerte Ergste" (group exhibition, New Bretagne Belle Air, Essen/2015), and "No matter what/Nothing" (solo exhibition, Tomio Koyama Gallery Kyoto/2012).
