ソー・ソウエン

Based in Fukuoka, she creates many works that explore the nature of humanity through phenomena closely related to our lives, such as "breathing," "navel," and "eggs," and presents workshops, installations, and performances both domestically and internationally. Her major exhibitions include "Your Body is the Shoreline" at √K Contemporary, "30th Anniversary Exhibition 'Everyday Choreography'" at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, and "Kyoto Seika University 55th Anniversary Exhibition FATHOM – Chiharu Shiota, Sumi Kanazawa, So Souen" at Kyoto Seika University Gallery Terra-S, among many others. In 2026, she traveled to Kyiv, Ukraine, and held a solo exhibition themed on "breathing," [GⅢ-Vol.165 So Souen Solo Exhibition/Air Condition], at the Kumamoto City Museum of Contemporary Art, created in collaboration with people gathered at "Garage33 Gallery-Shelter," run by artist Maria Kulikowska.
