山田康平

Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1997. Graduated from Musashino Art University, Department of Oil Painting, majoring in oil painting in 2020, completed the master's program in fine arts and crafts at Kyoto University of the Arts in 2022, and is currently based in Tokyo.
Major solo exhibitions include "Supporting Lightness" (Gap) (Tokyo, 2025), "Borderline" at Arario Gallery Seoul (Seoul, 2025), "Strikethrough" at Taka Ishii Gallery (Tokyo, 2023), "To Hide It" at biscuit gallery (Tokyo, 2022), and "How the Line Enters" at MtK Contemporary Art (Kyoto, 2022), Tsutaya Bookstore Gallery Space in Okazaki, Kyoto (Kyoto, 2022), and "road" Daikanyama Hillside Terrace Annex A (Tokyo, 2021).
Major group exhibitions include "Brick, Breath, Horizon" at Zian Gallery x Lisson Gallery (Shanghai, 2025), "Fluid in Forms" at Arario Gallery Shanghai (Shanghai, 2025), "Every where It Goes" at Mai 36 Galerie (Zurich, 2024), Participated in 'A Private View of Japanese Contemporary Art: Ryutaro Takahashi Collection' at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (Tokyo, 2024), 'Collection Exhibition: Introduction to New Collections' at Gunma Contemporary Art Museum (Gunma, 2024), 'Abstraction (re)creation—20 under 40-' at Le Consortium (Dijon, 2024), and the art fair 'ARTISTS' F AIR KYOTO' at the Kyoto Museum of Culture Annex (Kyoto, 2021, 2020). His major award includes being selected for the CAF Award in 2020.
