本展覧会のタイトル「Ahead of the Rediscovery」は、松岡正剛の提唱した「別様の可能性(英: Another Real Style)」の思想とその実践である「近江ARS」からインスパイアされたものがベースとなっている。
松岡正剛が晩年にアートやアーティストに別様の可能性を見いだしコラボレーション相手として声をかけた森山未來。そして2人のコラボレーションの経験を実装し展覧会の拡張を試みる。
松岡正剛
編集工学者
1944年京都生まれ。オブジェマガジン「遊」編集長、編集工学研究所所長、イシス編集学校校長。生命科学から認知科学まで、日本文化から宗教学まで、デザインから書道文化まで、多分野の研究成果をまたいで関係性をつなぐ「編集工学」を創始、その方法論をメディアづくりやシステム開発、さまざまなプロジェクトの企画や構想に応用し展開。日本文化研究の第一人者としても定評があり、「日本という方法」を提唱。「ブックウェア」をコンセプトとし、独自の知の配列による書棚空間のプロデュースも数多く手がける。おもな著書は、『知の編集工学』『花鳥風月の科学』『フラジャイル』『山水思想』『日本という方法』『日本文化の核心』『世界のほうがおもしろすぎた』『百書繚乱』、そして近江ARSの活動を記した『別日本で、いい。』ほか多数。2024年8月、逝去。2000年に連載を開始したネット上のブックナビゲーション「千夜千冊」は1850冊に及ぶライフワークとなった。

森山未來
1984年、兵庫県生まれ。5歳から様々なジャンルのダンスを学び、15歳で本格的に舞台デビュー。2013年に文化庁文化交流使として、イスラエルに1年間滞在。
、Inbal Pinto＆Avshalom Pollak Dance Companyを拠点にヨーロッパ諸国にて活動。
「関係値から立ち上がる身体的表現」を求めて、領域横断的に国内外で活動を展開している。
俳優として、これまでに映画賞を多数受賞。東京2020オリンピック開会式にてオープニングソロパフォーマンスを担当。2022年より神戸市にてArtist in Residence KOBE（AiRK）を設立し、運営に携わる。ポスト舞踏派。
近作として、パフォーマンス「STILL LIFE」（24-26、振付・Alan Lucien Øyen、共同振付、出演）、「さんぶたろう祭り」（24、森の芸術祭 晴れの国・岡山、企画構成、出演）、企画展「1995⇄2025 30年目のわたしたち」（24-25、梅田哲也氏との共同制作、兵庫県立美術館)、ダンス公演「魔笛」（24-25、振付・笠井叡）、きゅうかくうしお公演「素晴らしい偶然をむすんで」（瀬戸内国際芸術祭2025、構成、振付、出演）など。
出演作である、舞台「チ。ー地球の運動についてー」が2025年10月8日から上演中。

Seigow Matsuoka
Born in Kyoto in 1944, Seigow Matsuoka served as editor-in-chief of the object magazine Yū, director of the Editorial Engineering Laboratory, and principal of the ISIS Editing School. He founded the field of “Editorial Engineering,” a method that links knowledge across diverse disciplines—ranging from life sciences to cognitive science, from Japanese culture to religious studies, and from design to the culture of calligraphy. This methodology was not only theoretical but also applied to media creation, system development, and the planning and conception of numerous cultural and intellectual projects.
Matsuoka was also widely recognized as a leading scholar of Japanese cultural studies, advancing the idea of “Japan as Method.” He extended his editorial philosophy into spatial design through the concept of “bookware,” producing innovative library spaces that embodied his unique ordering of knowledge.
From 2000, he launched Senya Sensatsu (“Thousand Nights, Thousand Books”), an ambitious online book-navigation series that became his life’s work. Over two decades, it grew to encompass his commentary on 1,850 volumes, forming a vast intellectual landscape for readers across generations.
He passed away in August 2024, leaving a legacy as Japan’s pioneering editorial director and cultural thinker.
Mirai Moriyama
Born in Hyogo in 1984. He began learning various genres of dance at the age of 5 and made his stage debut at the age of 15. In 2013, he stayed in Israel for one year as a cultural envoy for the Agency for Cultural Affairs, and worked in European countries with the Inbal Pinto & Avshalom Pollak Dance Company as his base.
Seeking "physical expression that arises from relational values," he is active across a range of fields both in Japan and overseas.
As an actor, he has won numerous film awards. He will be performing the opening solo performance at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. He will be founding and running Artist in Residence KOBE (AiRK) in Kobe City from 2022. He is a recipient of Hyogo Arts Encouragement Award in 2023 and the Kobe City Culture Award in 2012. He is a post-dance dancer.
