石塚源太

1982年京都府生まれ。木の樹液である漆にその表情が生きる形を与え、漆が生み出す皮膜に触覚や身体性を投影し、漆の新しい知覚体験を模索している。
2007年より個展にて作品を発表するほか、「跳躍するつくり手たち」（京都市京セラ美術館、2023年）、「漆風怒濤－現在を駆け抜ける髹漆表現－」（石川県輪島漆芸美術館、2023年） 、「第4回 金沢・世界工芸トリエンナーレ 越境する工芸」（金沢21世紀美術館、2019年）、「Hard Bodies」 (ミネアポリス美術館、アメリカ、2017年)など国内外のグループ展に参加。2024年第42回京都府文化賞奨励賞。2019年ロエベファンデーションクラフトプライズ2019大賞受賞、京都市芸術新人賞受賞。作品は、ミネアポリス美術館（アメリカ）、ヴィクトリア＆アルバート博物館（イギリス）、大英博物館（イギリス）、京都市京セラ美術館などに収蔵されている。

Born in Kyoto in 1982, he creates his own work using urushi lacquer, which is a refined sap extracted from trees. In pursuit of a new perceptual experience through urushi, he explores forms that bring out the unique texture of lacquer and reflecting tactile quality and corporeality in the lacquer membrane.
He has contributed to exhibitions including Visionaries: Making Another Perspective, the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art (2003); Shippudoto, Wajima Museum of Urushi Art, Ishikawa (2023); the 4th Triennale of KOGEl in Kanazawa KOGEl as Contemporary Craft: Transcending Boundaries, 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa (2019) and Hard Bodies, the Minneapolis Institute of Art (2017). He was awarded the Incentive Prize, The 42nd Kyoto Prefectural Culture Prize in 2024, the grand prize at Loewe Foundation Craft Prize and the Best Young Artist Award from the City of Kyoto in 2019. His works are in the collection of the British Museum, Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum, and more.
