青山悟

1973년 도쿄도 출생. 공업용 재봉틀을 이용해 근대화 이후 계속 변용하는 인간성과 노동의 가치를 묻으면서 자수라는 미디어의 틀을 확장시키는 작품을 많이 발표하고 있다. 런던 골드 스미스 칼리지의 텍스타일 학과를 1998년에 졸업, 2001년 시카고 미술관 부속 미술 대학에서 미술학 석사 학위를 취득.
최근의 주요 개인전에 「자수 소년 포에버 in Kyoto」(미술관 「에키」KYOTO, 교토, 2026), 「세카이노 코트와리-우리 시대의 미술」(교토 국립 근대 미술관, 교토, 2025-26), 「개관 30주년 기념전 일상의 콜레오”(도쿄도 현대미술관, 2025), “Unfolding: Fabric of Our Life”(Center for Heritage Arts & Textile, 홍콩, 2019) 등 국내외 전시회에 다수 참가.

Born 1973 in Tokyo. BA in textiles from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 1998; MFA in fiber and material study from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2001. Lives and works in Tokyo. Employing industrial-use sewing machines, Aoyama embroidery medium, by questioning the values inherent in humanity and labou with the continuing changes effected by modernization. Some of Aoyama's recent major exhibits include “A Boy Who Sews Forever in Kyoto” (Museum'EKi' KYOTO, 2026), “ National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto, 2025-26) , “MOT's 30th Anniversary Exhibition Choreographies of the Every day” (Museum of Contemporary
Art Tokyo, 2025), “Unfolding: Fabric of Our Life” (Center for Heritage Arts & Textile, Hong Kong 2019) etc.
