I am a metal sculptor who expresses abstract motifs through the unique texture and refined forms of metal. Just as people grow through various stimuli, I attempt to bring to life the process of continuous change in form through "hand stimulation" in the creative process. This process encompasses invisible traces such as experiences and emotions accumulated during growth, as well as the passage of time. Prior to creation, I establish language as a guide for these invisible traces, and my recent theme has been "yet."
"옛 (yet)" is a Korean word that means "formerly" or "in the past," representing a past era.
The English word "Yet" embodies both the present and future possibilities, meaning "still" and "to come."
These two words, while having the same pronunciation, indicate different directions in time. Connecting them with a semicolon and placing them side by side creates a new resonance that encompasses the entire sequence of time: past, present, and future.
Based on the idea that the present is an accumulation of the past and is constantly changing, this work explores how to give form to the invisible accumulation of time.
