FAMEME

Born in Penang, Malaysia in 1983, FAMEME is currently based in Taipei. Born into a family of durian growers, FAMEME is a designer/singer and entrepreneur who critically explores the influencer phenomenon on social media in the West and celebrity-driven trend culture. Adopting the persona of a "crazy rich Asian," she promotes the durian, often called the "king of fruits" with its intense aroma, as her family business, while simultaneously using the durian as the core of her creative work, symbolizing her diaspora and queer Identity, and developing cross-genre/cross-cultural collaborations.
