D-jai Kosiyabong

1998年バンコク生まれ。言語、記憶、ノスタルジーをテーマに絵画を制作。
特定の記憶を出発点に、記号論や言語理論へのオマージュとなるルールを用いて絵筆を動かす独自のプロセスを行い、その視覚言語としての絵画を聴覚言語へと翻訳の行為を通して制作している。
このようにして生まれる大画面の作品は、新しい言語とも言える表現であり、考察と祝祭の感覚を内包し、希望と遊び心に満ちた新しい世界を描き出す。

(born 1998, Bangkok) explores the themes of language, memory and nostalgia through her paintings. She begins the process of painting by anchoring herself within a certain memory and uses that memory alongside specific rules that pay homage to semiotics and language to dictate the way in which her hand moves around the canvas. From there, Kosiyabong translates her paintings from the visual language to auditory language. Thus, resulting in large-scale paintings that are a new language. Kosiyabong carries this sense of contemplation and evokes the feeling of celebration within her work by creating a new world that is both hopeful and playful.
