手塚愛子

1976년 도쿄 출생. 베를린과 도쿄의 두 거점에서 작품 제작을 실시한다.
2001년 무사시노 미술 대학 대학원 유화 코스 수료(토야 나리오 씨에게 사사).
2005년 교토시립예술대학 대학원 유화영역 박사(후기) 과정 수료(우사미 케이지씨에게 사사).
2010년 고토 기념 문화상 미술 신인상에 의해 도영. 그 후 문화청 신진 예술가 해외 연수 제도에 의해 도독.

짠 것을 풀어내는 작품을 1997년부터 시작해, 역사상의 조형물을 인용, 편집하면서 새로운 구조체를 만들어 내는 독자적인 수법에 의해 제작을 계속한다.
국내외에서 전람회를 개최해, 주된 컬렉션에 국립 국제 미술관, 교토 국립 근대 미술관, 후쿠오카시 미술관, 도쿄도 현대 미술관, 도요타시 미술관, 오카자키시 미술 박물관, 구마모토시 현대 미술관, 다카마쓰시 미술관(이상 일본), 베를린 아시아 미술관(독일), 함부르크 미술 공예 박물관(독일), 섬유 박물관(네덜란드), 요한 야곱 미술관(스위스), 한국 국립 현대 미술관(한국) 등 다수.

Born in Tokyo in 1976. Mainly active in Berlin and Tokyo.
In 2001, Aiko Tezuka completed the Master's Degree programme in Painting at Musashino Art University, Tokyo (studied under sculptor Toya Shigeo). In 2005, she completed a PhD in Painting at the Art Research Department of Kyoto City University of Arts, Kyoto (studied under pain ter Usami Keiji). In 2010, she moved to London, UK, with the support of the Gotoh Memorial Cultural Foundation. Then, she began to live in Berlin with the support of a fellowship from the Japanese Government's Overseas Study Program for Artists.

In 1997, Aiko Tezuka embarked on a work unravelling readymade fabric. She has continued to create new structural forms by referencing and editing historical objects using her unique methods.
Her recent exhibitions have been held in Japan and countries including the Netherlands, Switzerland, South Korea, the UK, Germany, Singapore, China, the United States and many others. Aiko's works are included in the collections of the National Museum of Art, Osaka; the National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto; the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo; TextielMuseum in the Netherlands; the Museum of Asian Art, Berlin; and the Museum of Art and Design Hamburg, among many others.
