야마나카 유키노는 1999년, 나가노현 출생. 현재는 도쿄와 가나가와를 거점으로 활동한다. 2023년 교토 예술대학 대학원을 졸업. 지금까지 인간의 물질로서의 윤곽과 현상으로서의 상태의 쌍방에 주목해, 그 부드럽게 번쩍이는 부정형으로 비인간적인 존재를 그린다. 초기보다 일관되게 인물을 모티브로 하고, 그 스타일은 구상적인 묘화로부터 랜덤한 스트로크를 이용한 추상 묘화로 변화하고 있다. 흰 날아와 같은 정보가 부족한 빈 공간, 신체의 틈새에 흐르는 액체, Selfie와 아티스트 사진을 연상시키는 에고이스틱한 표정과 포즈. 그들이 화면 전체에 녹아들도록 그려지는 것으로, '나'에서 '무언가'로의 돌연변이 과정 그 자체를 포착하고, 지금까지의 인간상에서 벗어나고 있는 미완의 존재로서 우리의 모습을 드러내고 있다.

Yukino Yamanaka was born in 1999 in Nagano, Japan, and currently lives and works between Tokyo and Kanagawa. She graduated from Kyoto University of the Arts Graduate School in 2023. Yamanaka attends to both the contour of human conson formless, non-human presences that stir in the space between. From the outset, the figure has remained her consistent motif, while her style has shifted from representational rendering toward an abstraction built on random strokes. Voids stripped of information, languidly through the gaps of the body; egoistic expressions and poses that recall selfies or artist portraits—rendered so as to dissolve into the picture as a whole, they capture the very process of mutation from "I" into "something," laying bare our departing from the human as we have known it.
