니시노들은 공공성이 높은 장소에 사적 공간을 출현시키는 대형 프로젝트를 실시하는 것으로 국제적으로 알려져 있다. 거리의 모뉴먼트나 가로등 등을 가져와 방을 건설해, 거실이나 호텔 등에 완성해 작품화해 간다. 그 밖에도 몸에 넘치는 사물을 쌓아서 물건이 의미에서 해방되어 완전히 새로운 세계를 구축시키는 등 다채로운 재능을 발휘하고 있다. 니시노의 일련의 일의 특징은, 퍼블릭인 것을 프라이빗한 장소에 표출시키는 것-반대로 프라이빗한 공간이 퍼블릭에 공유된다고도 말할 수 있다-나, 물건끼리의 새로운 만남을 일으키는 것으로, 평상시 익숙한 풍경과 우리의 고정관념의 맥락을 가볍게 어긋나고 역동적으로 이화시키는 것에 있다.
