The ending theme song "Roar" for the 6th season of TV anime "Kingdom" will be released digitally on October 19th (Sunday). A portion of the song has been revealed in the second trailer for the anime!
The ending theme song "Houkou" for the sixth season of TV anime "Kingdom," which is scheduled to air on NHK General, will be released on Sunday, October 19th.
This work is a TV anime adaptation of the manga "Kingdom" by Yasuhisa Hara, which is currently serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" (SHUEISHA).
The original manga series has sold over 110 million copies in total, and in 2024, the fourth live-action film in the series, "Kingdom: The Return of the Great General," was released, becoming a huge hit with box office revenue of 8 billion yen.
The story is a grand historical romance set in ancient China during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, depicting the exploits of Shin (CV: Masakazu Morita), a young boy aiming to become a great general, and Ying Zheng (CV: Jun Fukuyama), the young king who would later become the First Emperor of China.
TV anime has so far aired its first series (June 2012 - February 2013 on NHK BS Premium), second series (June 2013 - March 2014), third series (April - October 2021), fourth series (April - October 2022), and fifth series (January - March 2024). The sixth series will begin airing on NHK General in October 2025.
The first official trailer for the sixth season of TV anime "Kingdom" shows Shin finally heading out into battle, carrying the spear of "Ouki" on his back.
Ouki was a hero who etched his name in history and a great general feared throughout all of China. He was the one who named the "Hi Shin Unit" and showed Shin the path to becoming a "great general of the world" that he aspired to. After a fierce battle with the "God of War" Houken at Bayang, he entrusted his spear to Shin just before his death, passing on his dreams and aspirations to the next generation. Eight years have passed since then. Having fought on numerous battlefields with his comrades and grown as a warrior, Shin, wielding Ouki's spear, resolves to take on Zhao in an all-out war.
The new song "Roar," which serves as the ending theme, was written, composed, and arranged by Tomonari Sora himself.
This song powerfully captures the escalating all-out war between Qin and Zhao, and a portion of the song was revealed in the second trailer for the anime. The jacket artwork, created by Sora Tomonari himself, was also unveiled.
