[MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL 5周年記念]Research on Olfactive Display「嗅覚に関する展示方法のリサーチ」

To commemorate the 5th anniversary of MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL, Avex Creator Agency Inc.'s art project "MEET YOUR ART" has produced an official multiple artwork by Kan Izumi, titled "Research on Olfactive Display." It will be available for purchase at the MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL 2026 venue starting October 9th, 2026 (Friday).
This work is an evolved project that emerged as a form of expression from Izumi's ongoing exploration of the sense of smell, stemming from his work for MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL 2025 ART EXHIBITION "Ahead of the Rediscovery Stream".

■ Experience "moisture" and "dryness" through scent.
How do people perceive the opposing states of "moisture" and "dryness" through their sense of smell? In this work, we have incorporated "moisture," which symbolizes the fluctuations of life, and "dryness," which symbolizes stillness and depletion, into this multiple as two scents and two forms: fragrances and incense.

Soaking incense in fragrance, drying it, and burning it—through this series of actions, you can experience the individual scents and the changes in sensation that arise when the two combine. From the fragrance that rises while drying to the scent that spreads as it burns, we aim to provide an experience of perceiving the "invisible" through the sense of smell by focusing your attention on this transition.

■Bringing expressions born in exhibition spaces into everyday life.
Starting with the creation of artwork for a festival, this project aims to connect the artist's exploration with the viewer's daily life, leading to the enjoyment of owning the artwork and experiencing it in everyday life.
MEET YOUR ART will continue to collaborate with artists to bring the expressions and experiences created in exhibition spaces into everyday life, expanding the presence of art in daily living.
