■ Nakama Ayaka

A dancer and dance artist born in Beppu and living in Kobe. While appearing in many performances by artists both in Japan and abroad, in recent years he has been actively engaged in his own creative activities. He pursues the "phenomenon that can only be called dance" that emerges in society, and is challenging himself to create "devices" to share the moment when it appears with others. He is a recipient of the 16th Kobe Nagata Cultural Encouragement Award. He will be a Saison Fellow I at the Saison Foundation from 2022. He is the owner of "house next door," a space for performances and meetings renovated from a wooden tenement house in Nagata Ward, Kobe City.
