In 2006, he won first place in Japan at his first ever DJ battle, the Teens DJ CHAMPIONSHIP 2006. In 2009, he topped the Japanese battle division of the DMC JAPAN DJ CHAMPIONSHIPS. He placed 4th in the world at the IDA WORLD DJ CHAMPIONSHIPS held in Poland in 2013, and won the singles division at DMC JAPAN in 2015. He then placed 5th in the world championships, making his name known around the world. These achievements show that he has enjoyed using turntables as an instrument more than anyone else, proving that DJ SHOTA is a one-of-a-kind performer.
