Rui Fukuda's pottery from Kodai Mizuho Kiln
-Tradition is not about preserving ashes, but about secretly preserving embers-
He is the second generation potter of the Koshiro Mizuho Kiln, which was founded by his father, Fukuda Toyosui.
He grew up under the tutelage of Toyosui, who was trying to revive the traditional Shodai ware and also ran his own folk art shop.
After graduating from university, he studied under Tatsuzo Shimaoka, a Living National Treasure, in Mashiko.
Since returning to his hometown, he has been actively exhibiting his pottery in Tokyo and overseas, including Germany.
