Pimlico Arts Japan
Six years after starting PimlicoArts JAPAN, this work visualizes the world seen through the eyes of a chuunibyou (eighth-grade syndrome) artist, who has been involved with marine plastic pollution.

PLX DATA ARC MATRIX is a generative art piece that captures plastic bottle caps collected from the ocean as data and archives that data within the artwork.

The caps of plastic bottles change their appearance in various ways due to the tide, wind, waves, and sunlight. These unique expressions are captured and collected as JPG data, and then reconstructed and archived in pixelated images as future archaeological materials.

This work reflects the transition from a world overflowing with petroleum products like plastic to a world overflowing with algorithms and AI, showcasing both the "comfort" brought about by plastic as seen by the artist, who is captivated by plastic, and the new "comfort" created by data, screens, and scrolling in the digital environment.
