The human beings I try to depict are fragments of the world's memories and time, living creatures, wind and sea; sometimes male, sometimes female, sometimes mermaid or bird, each existing everywhere, constantly transforming like grains of light. As fundamentally ever-changing beings, each of us is an atypical existence, different from the gender or race determined at birth, and Identity that arises from this becomes one again through sharing. We are not "bodies with souls," but rather "souls with bodies." While governing the form and shape of humans, the stone, earth, bone, blood, and layers of countless lives (universes) that are the accumulations of life's activities may be the vessel for the "soul."
