上野英里

Born Aichi in 1990. Graduated from the Department of Western Painting at Nagoya University of Arts in 2019. He captures random shots from plays, musicals, and news footage he has seen on video sites, and reconstructs them into completely new paintings stripped of story and meaning. He pursues the beauty that resides only in the uncertainty of a fleeting, disappearing existence, such as the way people melt into light and shadow under a spotlight, or the moment when the boundary between the person and the background fades away.
