  • ART FAIR - MEET YOUR ARTISTS
Born in Tokyo in 1995. He has been moving overseas since childhood and started his artist career while spending time in countries other than Japan, and in 2021 he received a master's degree from the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Oslo National University of the Arts.

Believing that artistic exploration using soil is the origin of Japan, he creates three-dimensional works on a wide scale using soil, a special medium for him, as a means of visual expression. In addition, by expressing the acceptance of material changes in the kiln without discarding them, the feeling of "I feel like a mutant of Japan" that I had while traveling back and forth between overseas and Japan is superimposed on the transformation phenomenon "spelling" seen in plant cells, and its beauty is projected onto the work. From 2023, he has also exhibited paintings.

Recent solo exhibitions include "Playing in the Soil" (THE LOOP G ALL ERY, Tokyo, 2023), Colorflow (Ram Galleri, Oslo, Norway, 2023), and Iro-toridori (Format Oslo, Oslo, Norway, 2022).

Born in 1995 in Tokyo, Japan, Takumi Morozumi graduated from Alfred University in 2019 with a BFA and received his MFA from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts in 2021. Believing that artistic exploration using clay is deeply rooted in Japanese art tradition, Takumi creates sculptures of various scales using clay. By embracing the material changes that occur in the kiln, he expresses the sense of being an “abnormal Japanese," a feeling he has always had throughout his life living long abroad. He metaphorically draws a parallel to the phenomenon of “fasciation” seen in plant cells and projects its beauty into his works. Since 2023, he has also been presenting pain tings. Recent solo exhibitions include “Clay Play” (THE LOOP G ALL ERY, Tokyo, 2023), “Colorflow” (Ram Galleri, Oslo, Norway, 2023), and “Iro-toridori” (Format Oslo, Oslo, Norway, 2022).
