  • ART FAIR - CROSSOVER
Born in 1991, Ozu majored in oil painting at Tokyo University of the Arts and graduated from the same university's graduate school. His works are characterized by vivid colors like watercolors and light brushstrokes, and the use of "ma" (space) to control the pictorial space. He has been familiar with Japanese art such as Yamato-e and Rinpa, as well as Western classical paintings since childhood, and these influences are deeply rooted in his creative activities. He creates oil paintings while referring to landscape paintings and ukiyo-e of Eastern art, as well as motifs of Western art. In recent years, he has been focusing on the distance between the artist and the motif and the setting of the pictorial space seen in the open pictorial space of the Orient through the basic themes of painting, such as "still life", "landscape", and "figure painting", and working on productions that reconsider these elements.
