山田優アントニ

Born in Shizuoka Prefecture in 1987. Graduated from the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Aichi University of the Arts, Department of Oil Painting and Printmaking in 2012. Has roots in Japan, France and Spain. Raised in a family of portrait painters for generations, he himself explores the possibilities of painting using the portrait format. He is currently based at the shared atelier "Studio Kodai" in Toride City, Ibaraki Prefecture. His main exhibitions include "The Will Entrusted to the Person: Yamada Yu Antoni x Kawashima Yu" (Hamamatsu City Akino Fuku Museum of Art, Shizuoka, 2017), "Full Frontal: Naked Circulator" curated by Umezu Yoichi (MITSUKOSHI CONTEMPORARY G ALL ERY, Tokyo, 2020), "fragments" (REIJINSHA G ALL ERY, Tokyo, 2021), and the 26th Taro Okamoto Award for Contemporary Art (Taro Okamoto Museum of Art, Kawasaki, Kanagawa, 2023).
