statement
We live our daily lives at the mercy of mysterious, invisible forces. I believe there is something hidden within them that cannot be fully understood by science alone.
I focus on the relationship between objects and gravity, and try to intervene in that "something" through the act of sculpture. I think that even if it does not take a fixed form, it appears as a force that brings definite distortions and lingering effects to the world.
The Earth is the largest sculpture for me, a giant clay mass that is constantly changing. I create my works by touching a part of it, and from the relationship between sculpture and gravity, I hope to open up the way matter, space, and existence exist to a broader cosmic perspective.
