Born in 1981 in Ishikawa Prefecture, into a family of Kutani ware potters.
My theme is the coexistence of the tangible materiality and immaterial narrative inherent in crafts.
Embracing the techniques and history of painted porcelain, which are my roots, I continue my practice of traversing the realms of craft, art, and painting, reinterpreting the memories and culture etched into the land with a critical perspective, much like tracing myths. My work is not about forms, styles, or techniques, but rather an attempt to stand at the point where the physicality and imagery inherent in craft are born, to visualize the time and stories flowing behind it, and to reconsider the possibilities of contemporary artistic expression.
