黒井博史

Born in Okayama Prefecture in 1974. She began studying pottery in 2005 and completed the molding course at the Kyoto Prefectural Advanced Technical School for Ceramic Arts. She studied under her father, Chisa Kuroi, a holder of Okayama Prefecture's Important Intangible Cultural Property designation, and learned Mushimei ware.
While inheriting the tradition of thin-walled, elegant Mushimei ware, the artist has conducted extensive research into glazes, pursuing modern expressions such as translucent, beautiful crackle glazes and delicate patterns created with iron glaze. They are not only preserving tradition but also opening up new possibilities for Mushimei ware. Highly regarded in the world of tea ceremony, and commissioned to create vessels by the Omotesenke school, they continue to pursue vessels that meet the needs of modern tea ceremonies while upholding tradition.
