品川亮

Painter. Born in 1987 in Osaka Prefecture.
Based in Kyoto, he is challenging himself to expand the possibilities of new contemporary painting while reconsidering Oriental painting and cultural history.
He actively engages in creating a wide range of expressions, from traditional styles such as hanging scrolls and sliding door paintings to modern architectural spaces, while asking the question, "What is painting?"
His major solo exhibitions include "Re:Action" (Fukuda Museum of Art Panorama Gallery / Kyoto), "RYO SHINAGAWA" (Eslite Gallery / Taipei), and "LANDSCAPE" (OIL by Bijutsu Techo Gallery / Tokyo).
He has also created works for temples and companies, such as Kenninji Ryosokuin, Tenreizan Shorinin, Tiger Corporation (Osaka), and Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. (Tokyo).

While developing a wide range of artistic expression, from traditional genres such as hanging scrolls and fusuma door pain tings to modern architectural spaces, my work is centered on the question: "What is pain ting?"
