  • ART FAIR - MEET YOUR ARTISTS
Born Hyogo in 1996. Graduated from the Kyoto University of Arts Graduate School of Fine Arts and Crafts Department of Oil Painting in 2021. He creates paintings that approach the function of human vision by painting a lattice pattern with acrylic paint on a square canvas and partially piling abstract colored surfaces on top of it. The works, which at first glance have a pop image due to the patterns, saturation and brightness, have the impression of being three-dimensional works due to the layers created by the overlapping, and make viewers reconsider the relationship between the viewer and the painting. In recent years, he has also created works using textiles based on the nature and origins of painting. His major exhibitions include the 2023 solo exhibition "Narrowed Vision" (Kyoto Tsutaya Bookstore Gallery, Kyoto), "Idemitsu Art Award Artist Selection 2023", the solo exhibition "Redundant Moon" (CANDYBAR G ALL ERY, Tokyo), the solo exhibition "Looking at the Sky through a Pinhole" (FOAM CONTEMPORARY, Tokyo), "Kyoto Art for Tomorrow 2023 Kyoto Prefecture New Artist Selection Exhibition" (Kyoto Museum of Art, Kyoto), the 2022 solo exhibition "outline" (WATOWA G ALL ERY/elephant studio, Tokyo), the solo exhibition "Peace and Hole" (haku kyoto, Kyoto), and the 2022 "ARTISTS'F AIR KYOTO 2022" (Kyoto Museum of Art Annex, Kyoto). Notable awards he has received include the Excellence Award at the Pommery Prize Kyoto 2023 in 2023, the Proactive Award at the ART AWARD TOKYO MAR UNO UCHI 2021 in 2021, and the Student Special Award at the Shell Art Award 2020 in 2020.
