He won a grand prize of a trip abroad in a mall lottery and went to the U.S. for the first time. While accompanying a band he met there on tour, he was given a camera by a band member and began taking photographs.
Participated in Koji Onaka's workshop. Received the Cosmos Arles PDF Award (France), TPD Book Award (Italy) and other awards at the Arles International Photography Festival.
Nominations and selections for World Press Photo Global Talent, Kassel Dummy Award, Gomma Photography Grant, PHotoESPAÑA Premio al mejor libro, and more.
He has participated in residency programs and received grants in the United States, Europe, and Asia, and has published collections of his work both in Japan and overseas.
