STUDIO Kodai is a shared studio located in Toride City, Ibaraki Prefecture, a 40-minute ride on the JR Joban Line from Tokyo Ueno Station, renovated from the site of a former factory.
STUDIO Kodai is now in its 12th year since its launch, and currently has around 25 artists working in a wide variety of media, including two-dimensional works, sculpture, video, crafts, and installations, while constantly updating itself through artist runs.
In recent years, exhibitions focusing on STUDIO Kodai have been held at venues such as CAPSULL, MARUEIDO JAPAN, Ginza Tsutaya Books, HIRO OKAMOTO, and Empathy Gallery, and the studio continues to explore new possibilities as a shared studio.
